Fans Can Vote in Fortnite To Help The Game Awards Select The Best Creator Made Fortnite Island of the Year

Today The Game Awards, the global celebration of video games, announced the launch of a brand new Fortnite Island called “The Game Awards Vote in Fortnite.” For the first-time, Fortnite players around the world can vote in-game and help The Game Awards select The Best Fortnite Island of the year, based on 10 nominated creator-made islands selected by The Game Awards.

Created in partnership with Nighttimes and Studio 568, The Game Awards Vote in Fortnite is a hub world that lets players portal to ten creator made Islands that showcase the potential, creativity and innovation possible in Fortnite. After exploring the nominated islands, players can vote in-game for their favorite. The winning island will be announced live at The Game Awards, when it streams globally on Thursday, December 7 from Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

In addition to voting, Fortnite players can explore, adventure and traverse across the Island to collect Game Awards statues. Players that collect all the statues will receive an in-game XP boost.

“Ever since I hosted Live From Risky Reels in Fortnite in 2019, I’ve been thinking about ways The Game Awards could bring our celebration inside the games we play every day,” said Geoff Keighley, Creator and Host, The Game Awards. “Our Fortnite island is the first experiment in this direction, and I’m particularly excited to help shine the spotlight on the amazing user-generated community around the world.”

Now available, “The Game Awards Vote in Fortnite” can be accessed using the in-game island code: 0853-1358-8532.

Fan voting on the island, limited to one vote per Epic ID, will be active until Wednesday, December 6 at 6pm PT. The winning island will be announced both on the island and during The Game Awards on Thursday, December 7. The Best Fortnite Island is a 100% fan-based poll and not an official Game Awards category.
